One of my favorite days of the year is International Pancake Day. Why, you ask? It’s a day entirely dedicated to celebrating pancakes. What’s not to love about that?

Whether it’s International Pancake Day or not, pancakes are always something I love to celebrate. I experiment with different flavors all the time, but I never thought I’d find a flavor like this.

It’s Mountain Dew pancakes. It may not be the most classic of pancake flavors, but believe it or not. it’s delicious, and not too powerful at all.

To make these Mountain Dew pancakes you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. table salt
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Mountain Dew soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • electric green food coloring (optional)
  • Mountain Dew syrup (optional), click here to learn how to make it.

Cooking Pancakes

For the ultimate pancake experience, you’ll want to make the syrup as well as the pancake. Regardless if you make the syrup or not, you’re going to love these.

If you do want to make the syrup, this is how.

For the syrup, you’ll basically melt sugar, corn syrup and Mountain Dew over the stove. Add a little green food coloring if you’d like, and set it aside until you’re ready to use it.

Now for the pancakes. Believe it or not, all you need to do is dump the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, Mountain Dew, egg, butter, vanilla, and green food coloring in a bowl and mix until smooth.

Cook them as you would any other pancakes. Spray a griddle with cooking spray or add melted butter or oil. Fry the pancake and flip it once bubbles form on the surface.
